The artist's solo show, through which she undertakes an exploration of the metaphor of love, is conceived as a monumental installation, the main element being distorted mirrors of over 300 square meters, painted by the young artist. The mirror thus becomes a leitmotif, representing in the artist's intentions the mirror of the soul, a space that reflects information and light, and at the same time a symbol that has long been explored in art, for its power of suggestion.
The mirror installation represented as a manifestation platform for the thousands of pictorial interventions of the artist, thus become spaces that reflect emotions, feelings, even disappointments that can be felt by each of those who look at them. She transformed the exhibition space into a symbolic, but also historical scene, given the significance of the Parliament Palace for the local context, in which love evolves. In this perspective, the question that gives the name of the exhibition, Are You Ready for Love', acquires labyrinthine meanings, different according to the experiences of each viewer and the life stages in which he is.
The artistic approach of Irina Cristescu, who is at her first solo exhibition, thus proposes a special vision of the faces and facets of love, which invites the viewer to assume an active role, to become part of the installation by seeing their own reflection alongside the colorful interventions placed by the artist on the mirror surfaces.
Color plays a central role in Irina Cristescu's artistic practice: "It is the way I explore the untamed parts of myself. I play with layers of color so that I can get closer to our natural state - to be and to love"
